GETTING STARTED
- If you are going to go through the time and effort of receiving coaching, you probably hope that every minute invested in coaching sessions will have a positive impact on your career and your life. To make coaching really work, you need to start with a highly personalized plan with SPECIFIC goals that you can measure.
- DIFFERENCE 1: a period of brief daily contact with clients who are in the process of transferring new skills to the workplace
- DIFFERENCE 2: very detailed feedback and coaching
- rehearsal of authentic, personally challenging scenarios
- DIFFERENCE 3: creation of a personal reference chart of goals, strategies, examples, and metrics for success
METHODS:
We offer coaching to individuals, pairs of co-workers, and small groups who work together, and usually incorporate the “challenging scenarios” module, personalized to their current and future work.
Any consultant can assess your situation and communications. What you want is an assessment that tells you something that you’ve not heard before but is something that gives you the chance for immediate change. You also need the kind of information that sets you up to grow on your own. You would not be at the level you currently have reached if you weren’t already a very competent and perceptive person, and executive coaching should reflect that.
Executive coaching should not be B-School revisited and re-packaged. It should lead to DAILY insights that are new to you and lead to immediate change that is dramatic. If you have a history of dramatic results in your work, then you should have dramatic change in your communications and leadership with executive coaching, and not a slow, incremental, and costly series of small and inconsistent changes.
If your executive coaching is going slowly, then it is the wrong kind of coaching for you.
